“It takes a Village”
You are probably familiar with saying, “It takes a village.” As a parent one thing I quickly realized was that my children need support and modeling from more than just me and I need a support system to lean on for help and encouragement. A strong theme through the Bible is fellowship with and loving those in our families and communities. At Like Arrows we hope to become an extension of your family. We want to be part of your village and help provide support and encouragement to you and your child(ren). As a Christian myself, you will see elements of faith in this program such as saying a prayer before meals, biblical character traits and stories, however it will be presented in a nondenominational fashion.
Psalms 127:4 says, “Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.” Everyday we will aim to provide a safe and secure atmosphere that will allow the children in our care to learn, to explore, to form relationships and most of all have fun! Through these learning experiences we also want to give our children a foundation that will prepare them for the future. Like a warrior releasing their arrow in battle, we as parents and caregivers will one day release our children to the next stage, the next grade, the next milestone and we want them to be ready! We want to give them the tools to use their natural gifts and abilities to their full capability. We want to help them build a foundation that will help them navigate the areas where they are not as strong. Ultimately we want to help them reach their full potential and grow up to be kind, confident and competent adults.
Let me be the first to welcome you into the Like Arrows family! It definitely takes a village to get through this journey in life and we are humbled and excited to be part of yours! It’s time to take aim for the future!
